The word of the day was ADAPT Honored quests at Trinity were the delegates to the Northwest Washington Lutheran Synod Assembly. It was fun to have a crowd in the building and to see attendees greet volunteers and Neighbors as if we are all old friends.
We moved the grocery handout to the preschool hallway. Jude and her team gave grocery bags to 25 Neighbors. (That’s a high count for the first weekend of the month.) They continue to greet newcomers. Possibly they are passing through from sweeps in Seattle?
Burritos were prepared this morning by the team from Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
Neighbors asked us to notify the EUCC team that the burritos were a 5-star treat!
We distributed those 5-star burritos at the scullery kitchen door. It worked well, especially when the sun came out and we could move outside to the sidewalk where we could visit safely and chat with Synod Assembly guests.
Prayer requests:
Kevin continues to ask for prayers that his appeal with Snohomish County for a housing voucher is approved. Also pray that his daughters, Vanessa and Rose are in good health and are happy.
Tracie asks for prayers that pestering her neurology doctor will get an appointment sooner than August.
Karen Kirkmire-Wilson (coffee Karen) Karen recently fell and broke a couple of bones in her hand. The damage will heal easily, but the necessary and very cumbersome cast means that she does not have the use of that hand. All of life’s tasks are “double difficult”. She misses us and looks forward to returning to normal life and seeing us again.
Congratulations:
Anthony (David Fox’s grandson and Sarah and Jason Fox’s nephew will graduate high school on Thursday, June 9. Anthony has been a steady volunteer at Neighbors in Need for the past 5 years. Anthony, we wish you every success. We will brag that we knew you even before you were a world-famous musician!

Michael Irving (another long-term Neighbor and helpful volunteer) needs to buy a car (even a junker) He is applying for jobs and riding his bicycle to interviews is “just not doing it”. Do you know of a car that he can buy? Michael Irving 425 791 6539 or call me at 206-450-4900.
Household furnishings: We have a Neighbor who has worked with domestic violence services to attain safe housing for herself and her children. She is still in need of household items and some small furniture. Please contact me if you have any items that we can get to her.
