Weekly Report December 17, 2022

Can you help?  As you well know, our next Neighbors in Need Saturday is Christmas Eve.  We need extra help.  We have Christmas gift bags to fill and distribute, help with setting up and/or breaking down, food distribution, and very importantly, listening to our Neighbors on this sentimental day.  We would love your company for the entire session, but even an hour any time between 7:30 and 11:00 would be helpful.

Thank you to the team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church for preparing burritos this morning.  And especially thank you for bringing the miniature cream puffs!  That brought back good memories from the days before Covid.

We served 35 Neighbors and 2 families this morning.  (Thanks, Jude!)  In addition to burritos and lots of hot coffee, each Neighbor and family received generous bags of non-perishable foods, fresh sandwiches, and salads provided by the food bank, and were invited to select warm clothing and shoes from our clothing bank.  Thank you to a small army of behind-the-scenes volunteers who sort, pack, and distribute all of these gifts.

Please continue to pray with Kevin for clarity of mind, a financial windfall, and a new car.

Also, continue to pray for Kelly.  Now he has added RSV to his health struggles.

Please offer prayers of Thanksgiving for the volunteer teams who are keeping the Emergency Cold Weather shelter open, night after night after night.

See you next Saturday??

We wish you the warmth of peace,

Joan
