Where was everyone?? Actually, we served 35 Neighbors this morning but it seemed quiet and slow-paced. Jude noticed that there were 6 Neighbors who were totally new to her. We also had 3 Neighbors return from pre-covid days. Time in a shelter is running out and there is still inadequate available housing.
It isn’t all bad news, however. We have “former Neighbors” who return to tell us about their work and/or new housing. They don’t simply stop by. They help with setting up and tearing down. They remain part of the Neighbor family.
Many thanks to Nurse Gail with Mercy Watch. She is a gifted listener. She has a sense of who wants help, who wants advice, or who wants a loving ear. On this day, she spent a long hour with a new Neighbor who had painful, weathered hands. He was so touched by her care and relief of pain that he cried.
We still need jeans!! If you have extra men’s jeans in waist sizes 30, 32-34, or 36, we have Neighbors who need them.
Have a joyful, love-filled Easter
Joan
