Weekly Report May 6, 2023

John and Michelle were in charge!!

(By the way, they cook a delicious breakfast burrito.)  Sarah and Carter trained to be “rollers of breakfast burritos”.  They are hired at volunteer scale for all future burrito rolling opportunities.

The typically slower first weekend of the month reflects our growing numbers.  Where a first weekend was usually 25 Neighbors, we now see more than 40.  Counting a couple of late-comers, we gave grocery bags and burritos to 44 Neighbors.  Thank God for the Edmonds Food Bank for their generous donations.  And thank God for Tony who brings popular hoagy sandwiches and donates dozens of eggs that we hard boil to provide protein.

We had a representative from Assurance Cell Phone provide our Neighbors with free cell service.  If you know someone on a tight budget who needs cell service, send them to NiN next Saturday morning.

GOOD NEWS — The Puget Sound Brass Ensemble has confirmed a concert date to benefit Neighbors in Need.  Save the date:   December 9 2023.

Our morning was busy, yet companionable.  It always feels good to be there.  Stop by when you can.

Mercy Watch will be with us next weekend.  See you soon, Gail!

The Dental Van will be with us the weekend of May 29.  More details to follow.

In gratitude for your supportive serving and prayer,

Joan
