weekly report July 15, 2023

And yet again, growing numbers……………

Our pantry gave out 63 grocery bags this morning plus 4 family boxes.  It was a truly busy morning.  This number does not include the dozen or so who come for coffee, resources, and neighborly community.

Our volunteer team agreed that close to half of our guests were first-time visitors to Neighbors in Need.  They were typically timid – eager to be “rule-following” guests.  We pray that they feel welcome and will return to firm up relationships and access resources.

Fresh garden vegetables are back!!  Our pantry was able to hand out even more nutrition.  Pictures to come.

Many thanks to the team from Holy Rosary Catholic for preparing A BUNCH of burritos.  We gave out every single one.

We desperately need volunteer help.  It will be a fast and truly rewarding morning.  Please consider giving us a couple of hours on your Saturday mornings.  Do you have a youth group looking for service?  We have safe and truly meaningful service tasks.

Please let me know if you can help.   Joan.jolly@gmail.com    206-450-4900

We are so grateful!!    Frank Fargo visited last week to drop of 12 huge bags of clothing that he rescued from a shelter that had to close.  Those clothes were so needed!  He was back this morning with another 12 bags.  Frank, it is always good to see you and it sure does feel good to know that, with your help, we can support our Neighbors’ clothing needs.  You are truly a blessing.

Prayer request:

Kevin continues to ask us to pray with him for: “My sister, Maxine, in Las Vegas in need of healing, for my other sisters, Karen and Donna in Chicago, for my children and grandchildren in Switzerland, and for me in Lynnwood.  Also pray for a complete repair of my van, for a financial windfall and clarity of mind.  Thank you.”

We wish you comfort on warm summer days.

May we see you on a Saturday in August? 😊

Joan
