Weekly report 11/11/2023

First  to our veterans / We thank you for our safety and our security.  We are truly grateful.

It was a steadily busy morning.  Most of our Neighbors were wet and windblown.  The line was long in our clothing area.

Thank you to the team from Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation.  Not only do they prepare burritos every 2nd Saturday of every month, they supply a lot of protein for our Neighbors.  They bring string cheese, hot and cold cereals, tuna packets, and fresh fruits.

Also thank you to Tony and Advocates Recovery Services.  He supplies the very popular submarine sandwiches, and  this week he brought three bags of socks on a day when dry socks were especially welcome.

Our pantry provided 56 bags of groceries and four family boxes.  Neighbors who receive groceries also choose salads, soups and/or chili, and a variety of fresh fruits. This nutrition is provided by the Edmonds Food Bank.

IT WAS DENTAL VAN DAY! !  They served 8 patients.  Mitch has been on antibiotics since late summer because he didn’t have the courage to have a tooth pulled.  He has been miserable  and has been an intolerable grouch.  Susan introduced him to  the dental team and they charmed him into the extraction.  He is a new man.  Who would believe  that we would celebrate with Mitch?

Prayer requests;

Kevin asks us to join him in prayers for peace and quiet in his home, and safety for his family.

Continue to pray for Jack as he heals from his successful cancer surgery.

We wish warmth

Joan
