Weekly Report April 19, 2025

It was an especially good day for our clothing bank.

We are grateful to our neighbors at Fairwinds Brighton Court for sending 7 very full bags of beautiful clothing.  As the weather warms, our Neighbors will have fashion.

Thank you, also to Amy Squire and her St Hilda St Patrick Episcopal Church for a full cart load of jeans,  shirts, shoes, new underwear, blankets and sleeping bags, and backpacks.  Your partnership is truly a blessing.

Advocates For Recovery shares with NiN in every way that they can.  Thank you for your gift of men’s underwear.

Our Neighbors were treated to biscuits and gravy this morning, as well as their breakfast burritos.  We thank the team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church for your cooking and your company.  You served more than 100 plates to our hungry Neighbors.

Our pantry was, as always, busy.  They handed food bags to 86 Neighbors, food boxes to 5 families (5 families, not a typo), and 5 pets.  Our numbers are growing when we wish they could shrink.

As needs increase, our support system faithfully meets our needs.  Edmonds Food Bank must budget shrinking resources, yet they still see that we have 3 protein-rich foods for our Neighbors.  They return each Saturday morning with fresh salads and fruits, and they save eggs so that we can prepare hard-boiled eggs, yet additional nutrition.

Advocates For Recovery supports our Neighbors every week.  Not only do they bring skilled resource providers, but they also gift our Neighbors with hoagie sandwiches, coffee, pastries, and cookies.

Franz Bakery is another weekly supporter.  Jude picks up breads, bagels, English muffins, and pastries every Saturday morning.

It takes a village, and ours is loyal.

Enjoy a beautiful Easter Sunday.  Your care for our Neighbors illustrates the Easter message.
