It was a morning for flexibility. Several regular volunteers were away to enjoy the holiday weekend. Volunteers did double duty and mentored others (including a few Neighbors) to serve in new areas. As always, it was a welcoming, family-like day.
Gloria Dei Lutheran Church was with us to prepare a truly wholesome breakfast. Our Neighbors enjoyed biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, milk, and fruit juice as well as burritos. Sincere thanks for your Neighbor-anticipated delicious breakfast. And also, thank you for your presence on the floor among our Neighbors. Gloria Dei served 158 plates. That’s a new high.
Mercy Watch was with us and busy. Because they and the ARS medical team are so regularly with us, our Neighbors trust and are willing to practice health maintenance. Relationships are powerful.
Our pantry was busy up to the very end. They probably ended with a count near 90.
We remember and honor the men and women who have protected, and who continue to protect our nation. Because of you, we are able to serve.
We have sunshine for a holiday weekend! Enjoy
God be with you
