Weekly Report August 2, 2025

We harassed one of our Neighbors this morning because we don’t see him every Saturday.  His explanation was, “I only come when I need food.  Sometimes I have food. Other people need it. I am blessed.”  He reminded us why Saturday mornings are so important to us.

Thank you to Team Pemco!! 🙂 They served 160 breakfasts this morning.  Their menu included scrambled eggs, sausage links, hash browns, fresh fruit, a selection of pastries, apple juice and/or milk and (OH SO WELCOME) oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins.  Of course our Neighbors came back for seconds.

Once again, our Neighbors want clean summer clothing.  The line was long.  Peggy, Rick and Lorrie serve only one Neighbor at a time. Our Neighbors are happy to wait their turn for this caring service.

Welcome back!  The dental van was with us today.

They served 8 patients this morning.  Since each patient needs and hour to an hour and a half for care, it was a busy time.  Unfortunately, two patients could not be served because their blood pressure readings were high.  Our dental experts are thorough, and those two patients now know to see a doctor.

Our pantry continues to be our Neighbors’ first stop after they get their coffee.  They gave 82 bags to Neighbors and 3 boxes to families.  We’re grateful to Bella’s thrift store for dropping off two cases of dog kibble.

We are all blessed by our Saturdays together

Joan
