Weekly report December 27, 2025

Our pantry uses green, environmentally friendly plastic bags to assemble foods for our Neighbors.  When it’s cold and pouring rain, this is what some need to do to be dry.  This photo shows him on his way to our clothing bank to look for “no-leak” shoes.

We are blessed to have a clothing bank and to have so many generous donors.  We need every item.

A hot breakfast was especially welcome this morning.  We are grateful to our team from Gloria Dei Lutheran for hot biscuits and gravy, sausage patties, fresh fruit and beverages.  They served 194 plates to our guests. We had an abundance of post Christmas bakery gifts this morning.  Breakfast was truly a celebration.

The pantry has some production line work to prepare for our Neighbors.  They gave 94 grocery bags and 2 family boxes.  There was an early and long line this morning.

What a year by such a team!  Our volunteers represent eight congregations, plus 5 non-profits.  Community works!

Neighbor updates:

Kevin asks us to continue praying with him for clarity of mind, protection of children and grandchildren, safety in the street from cars, good health, and a financial windfall.  Kevin is steadily employed and finding answers to these prayers.

Joey continues to recover from his injuries from being hit by a car.  He has moved from Harborview to a rehab facility in Edmonds.  He texted AJ this morning that he misses all of us.

Sherrie is working closely with a social worker.  The social makes sure she is safe and dry.  Sherrie is certain that her advocate will find her safe housing in the near future.

Melodie has moved into a larger, handicap safe apartment.  Best part of the move?  A walk in shower.

We pray for love, health and security for each of our Neighbors as well as ourselves.

Joan
