It is late in the month and we expect to be busy. Again, our guests included new faces as well as Neighbors and families who are long-term friends. We served 38. New Neighbors included 2 women who were burned out of Trinity Apartments last week.
Praise God that we see the Edmonds Food Bank every Saturday. They stop by early with staple and fresh foods and return later with salads and sandwiches. We are truly grateful. We thank you for your care for us.
And we have enjoyed fresh garden vegetables again this summer. It feels especially good to offer this additional nutrition to our families. We are grateful to Jude’s Lynnwood neighbor who stops by each Saturday morning.
The fourth Saturday of the month means that the team from Gloria Dei Lutheran is with us at 7 AM to prepare burritos. They introduced us to new team members. Nice recruiting!! It is always fun to have you. And thanks to each of you for helping to pack grocery bags.
Prayer request:
Kevin asks us to pray with him for the safety of his children and grandchildren. Also, pray that he passes his apartment inspection and for continued success at school.
Pray for the family and close friends of Mitch Molloy, a long-time Neighbor who passed away this week. There will be a brief memorial at the Hygiene Center at 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon.
Wanted! The Hygiene Site is desperate for men’s clothing. If you have outgrown your jeans and/or no longer need t-shirts, they need smaller sizes. Waist sizes 30 up to 34 and shirt sizes small through large are those most often requested.
AND GOOD NEWS… The Seattle Brass Ensemble has asked to perform a benefit concert for NiN at Trinity on the evening of December 3. Remember how fun and interesting their previous concert was? Don’t miss it!
With gratitude to all
Joan
