Weekly Report July 8, 2023

Our numbers continue to grow, even at the first of the month.  Our pantry handed out 54 grocery bags.  We hosted additional Neighbors who came just for coffee and a burrito.  It was a large crowd!

Thanks to the team from Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church for preparing this morning’s burritos.  Thank you for abundance!  We had several requests for seconds.

A truly important part of the morning is genuine interest in our Neighbors’ welfare.  AJ had a good, long visit with B-Rad appreciating his love for Bill’s music and hearing about the recent challenges in his life.  He definitely stood a little straighter after her sincere care.

Mark and Tom at our resource table used great patience with Will.  Will has some severe imaginary and frightening (to him) threats.  He clearly benefitted from their respect.  He was calm and smiling when he left.

It’s important to thank Allen for truly saving our day.  We realized at the last minute that we did not have a dishwasher.  He has extensive restaurant experience and willingly stepped in at the end of his busy morning to wash A LOT of pots and pans.  He saved us! 😊

Frank Fargo stopped by today.  Volunteers and Neighbors alike were truly happy to catch up with him.  He brought in 12 garbage bags full of clothing.  Wow do we need them.  Thank you, Frank.

Thank you to all for your time at Neighbors in Need and to everyone else for your prayers.  We are a powerful team.

We wish you peace,

Joan
