Weekly Report June 15, 2024

All “Juneuary” jokes applied this morning.  Our Neighbors were good-humored and enjoyed early cups of coffee.

Special thanks to the team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church for hot breakfast burritos and lots of orange juice.  You fed a large and hungry crowd ❤️

There were special treats with early morning coffee.  Thank you to Peggy and some children in her neighborhood who baked and decorated chocolate cupcakes.  They were gone in a minute.

A cart full of blue jeans!!  Our Holy Rosary team asked their members to bring a pair of jeans to a special women’s event.  Their generosity is absolutely humbling.  On behalf of our Neighbors, THANK YOU.

Our pantry served more than 80 Neighbors this morning.  Again we saw a broad range of ages including a grandma with her two elementary age grandchildren.  Where would we be without Edmonds Food Bank, Trinity’s Neighborhood Garden, Advocates Recovery Services and Franz Bakery.  It truly takes a village.

Mercy Watch was busy as always, assessing symptoms, offering healthcare suggestions and introducing patients to Tom at our Resource table.  Our Neighbors look for you and welcome your care.

Good News!!    Neighbors who have completed Volunteers of American Rapid Rehousing Applications are being placed in apartments.  The application process is detailed and requires a lot of patient counsel by our resource team.  It feels so good that the work is worth it.

SHOES!!!    Our clothing department needs men’s and women’s shoes in all sizes.  Please see if you have any that you can spare.

Special Prayer Request:  Please pray for Albert Hamilton, a long time Neighbor.  He experienced cardiac arrest on Thursday morning and is currently in intensive care at Providence in Everett.

We send prayers of gratitude for all fathers and those who serve in a father role.

We wish you peace and health,

Joan
