Weekly Report July 27, 2024

Where was everybody?  We always expect a large crowd toward the end of the month, but it was a truly quiet morning.

Thank you to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for a full breakfast.  They served 82 plates.  Neighbors missed out on biscuits and gravy, hash browns and sausages as well as breakfast burritos.  Really good stuff!

The pantry handed groceries, hoagie sandwiches, and salads to 42 Neighbors.  That’s half their normal count.

DOWNSIZING OPPORTUNITY:   Do you have dressers (tall but not too wide), twin bed linens, pillows, towels and washcloths, and decor?  Advocates Recovery Services is opening two new clean and sober houses.  One will be for women, 55 years and older, who are in recovery.  The second house will soon be licensed to house mothers and children so that moms in recovery will  be able to keep their children with them.  If you have something, please let me know.  joan.jolly@gmail.com or 206-450-4900.  (The attachment will give you details about the shelter for women.)

Even with a very low count, our volunteers were steadily busy with their tasks and devoting listening time to our Neighbors.  Thank you for your precious time and thank you, everyone, for your prayers.  You are a very big gift to this community.

Gratefully

Joan
