It was all about the numbers this morning. Our pantry served at least 95 Neighbors! It was so busy everywhere that it wasn’t appropriate to ask for updates. I noticed two families receiving food boxes.
Apparently, our pet hospitality is becoming well-known in the canine community. We had 7 dogs at various times throughout the morning. They were all quiet, lovely guests.
Gloria Dei Lutheran was on deck to serve a full breakfast of sausage, biscuits and gravy, milk and apple juice. They had served 105 plates midway through the morning. They were busy! And, of course, they prepared and served required burritos. Our Neighbors could take a nice warm lunch with them when they left. Back to our pets: the Gloria Dei team includes bagged dog food and cat food on their serving table. Our Neighbors are assured that we understand the value of being needed by family and/or a pet.
We had soaking-wet Neighbors this morning. Our clothing team replaced a lot of cold and wet with warm and dry. Special thanks to the entire team for caring customer service on Saturday mornings and for their morning of organizing during the week, It’s a very big deal.
We’ll see you in March! Be well
Joan
