Welcome back, Indian Christian Association of Seattle! John, we were so glad to have you and your team back with us. Thanks so much for the burritos and orange juice.
Also, we welcome members of Mill Creek Four Square Church who were part of our pantry team this morning. Please come again soon.
The pantry was busy as always. They served 71 Neighbors and prepared a box for one family. Thank you to Edmonds Food Bank and to Advocates Recovery for lots of salad and sandwiches.
It was a very long day for the dental van. The dental professionals cared for 13 patients. That’s a new record. Thank you to Medical Teams International and special thanks to Susan for her long week of scheduling and for hosting our Neighbors while they waited for their turn for dental care. Susan speaks fluent Spanish. Her skills are truly a comfort for all of the dental patients.
Nurses Gail and Joyce were also very busy during the morning. They treated wounds and assessed symptoms for 13 Neighbors, even convincing one Neighbor to go to the emergency room for additional care. The trust that our Mercy Watch team has created is pretty much a miracle. Thank God we have them with us.
We send our care to the family and friends of Christopher Johnson, who passed away during the past week. While still homeless, he built a successful home repair business, Handy Home Helpers. He leaves behind his long-time partner, Jackie Estes, and their nine-year-old daughter Cora.
We wish you a beautiful Easter week
Joan
