Saturday Morning Weekly Report

Our pantry uses green, environmentally friendly plastic bags to assemble foods for our Neighbors.  When it’s cold and pouring rain, this is what some need to do to be dry.  This photo shows him on his way to our clothing bank to look for “no-leak” shoes. We are blessed to have a clothing bank and

Asking for grace if this report makes absolutely no sense.  The morning was super crowded and busy but in a richly rewarding way.  Every single volunteer (actually as they always are) was the true spirit of Christmas. (And now they each need a nap) Our team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church fed the multitudes this

Welcome to members of Archangels Coptic Orthodox Church and thank you for breakfast.  We sure enjoyed your company.  Every single burrito was scarfed up.  Please come again soon. And once they finished preparing breakfast, the entire team moved over to clothing to help sort donations.  The sorting was a huge task this morning!  The photo

What’s the yellow stuff in all of those pitchers?  That’s actually bazillions of eggs that our Pemco Insurance friends cooked into most welcome scrambled eggs.   Pemco employees, their friends and family members prepared at least 250 early morning breakfasts of scrambled eggs, hash brown patties, sausage links, oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins, and fruit

What a way to start the day.  John caught this view as he arrived early this morning. Our friends from St Philopateer St Demiana Coptic Orthodox congregation fed the largest crowd we have had in years.  (We had to set up extra chairs!) The

What a day, and it was a good day.  We had a guest breakfast team this morning.  Sabrina brought her fellow volunteers from St Dunstan’s Church, Annie’s Kitchen, and Advocates

It’s always about the numbers, and the numbers steadily rise.  Our “Neighborhood” Is a growing neighborhood. One new Neighbor has been homeless since she immigrated to the US from Africa.  She is already working with immigration resources and has a job as a care giver.  She is a college graduate who earned her degree in

How many NiN volunteers does it take to open a travel size band-aid container?  Per this photo, only one!  Friendly advice failed and will not be welcome in the near future! It was a long, busy morning for the team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  They prepared 140 burritos plus prepared and served a full
