We had an early crowd this morning.  Everyone was eager to be inside with a cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Many thanks to the team from Holy Rosary Catholic Church for preparing burritos.  They went quickly. Our pantry team gave out 51 bags of groceries and 2 family boxes.  They estimated an additional 10

We had early guests on this dark and very wet morning.  We invited them inside even though the coffee was not yet ready.  The early arrivals took it upon themselves to do the setup.  Allen helped with placement directions and they took charge of all the heavy lifting.  We truly are a Neighborhood. Welcome to June!! It was the first Saturday of the month.  It should have been slow, right? We actually lost track of how many neighbors our foodbank served.  Including an “after-hours rush” we gave food, salads, and sandwiches to more than 50 people.  We provided family boxes to four families.  What would we do without

“Love like Jesus loves”.  That was the thought that one of our Neighbors wrote on our whiteboard this morning. The Holy Rosary Catholic Church breakfast team earned extra points this morning.  It was hot in that kitchen!!  Many thanks to each of you for your good humor and excellent cooking.  It is always so fun to have you with us. Our Neighbors were all up at the crack of dawn and eager for coffee. 

Just have to share a picture of the Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Congregation breakfast team.  After arriving by 7:30 AM to prepare breakfast burritos, they deep clean the kitchen and then head out to see how else they can help.  This is typical of our burrito brigades.  They serve with purpose and great joy. John and Michelle were in charge!!   (By the way, they cook a delicious breakfast burrito.)  Sarah and Carter trained to be “rollers of breakfast burritos”.  They are hired at volunteer scale for all future burrito rolling opportunities.
