Our Neighbors were the guests of Korean Nest Mission this morning. It was a perfect morning for hot biscuits & gravy, sausages, and fruit juice.  The team from Gloria Dei spent the entire morning with us to prepare and serve breakfast plus take-out burritos.  Our Neighbors were sure glad to see hot food. And additional gratitude to the Gloria Dei congregation for holding a clothing drive. 

This was a fun and truly significant day of learning for our Neighbors in Need family. Eight of our “every Saturday” volunteers were away and doing the fun stuff that we should all be doing during the summer.  The rest of us stepped into new roles and performed like experts.  It was a great morning. Our Neighbors are eager to come inside for coffee even though it is a gentle summer day.  They earned their coffee this morning.  Our multi-purpose room setup team was 100% Neighbors.  Thank you to Dwight for your leadership. It was a day for maximum nutrition.  Tom, a many years friend of Neighbors in Need donates fresh-from-his-garden vegetables each week.  The photos show a portion of today’s gifts.  These, plus lettuce, tomatoes and herbs from Trinity’s community garden made it a “gourmet day”. Where was everybody?  We always expect a large crowd toward the end of the month, but it was a truly quiet morning. Thank you to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for a full breakfast.  They served 82 plates.  Neighbors missed out on biscuits and gravy, hash browns and sausages as well as breakfast burritos.  Really good stuff!  The

!10 breakfast burritos were gone in just a flash this morning!  Even during the hot weather, burritos, coffee, and time to “sit around the breakfast table” are welcomed by our Neighbors.  Thank you to Trinity’s breakfast chefs and our coffee team for preparation and serving. Our pantry gave grocery bags to 73 Neighbors and one family. 

What a day!!!   Our Neighbors were gracious and grateful, but they were also tired, discouraged, and feeling hopeless.  At least 6 of our volunteer team spent their entire morning having one-on-one listening with Neighbors who needed to be heard……(and that 6 doesn’t include the care they got from the pantry and clothing teams and from Tom, our

A hot cup of coffee and breakfast were welcome on a sunny and very warm morning.  Thanks to the Trinity breakfast team!  They served eggs, sausages and hash browns along with burritos.  We had rookies on our team this morning. They are now skilled burrito folders.   Our pantry served 72 Neighbors this morning, offering, as always,

Northwest Church to the rescue!!  On a more than ever busy day, the team from Northwest Church in Lynnwood were hard at work.  Not only did they prepare and serve burritos, they helped with setup, coffee serving, grocery bagging, pantry service, clothing distribution and sorting, one on one visiting with Neighbors, and, finally, cleanup.  We are truly
